Balaikota Lama, also known as Balwas Tegal, is a historical building from the Dutch East Indies (now known as the Netherlands). This building used to be a town hall before it moved near the town square of Tegal. Although this building is no longer a central government building, this townhall has become a well-maintained historical site in the Dutch East Indies. Visitors come to take pictures of ancient buildings or just walk around in the Balwas area. Students from some schools even take pictures for the school memory album because of the aesthetic of the architecture. There is no entrance fee to the Balwas, but there is still a parking fee for visitors who bring their own vehicle, and the parking fee is about Rp. 2,000,00–Rp. 5,000,00*.
Bahari Monument is a monument located still in the area of Alam Indah Beach, after the entrance fee. This monument tells the history of an Indonesian Navy soldier in Tegal. In the outdoor area of the monument, there is a tank, aircraft, canon, and torpedo that are no longer used. Inside the building of the monument, there are several miniature fighter aircraft and battleships used by Indonesian Navy soldiers. The entrance fee to this monument is free; however, you still have to pay Rp 10,000.00* to enter the area of Alam Indah Beach.
