Tegal Coast Carnival
Tegal Pesisir Carnival, or Tegal Coast Carnival, is an annual event as a reminder of Tegal City Anniversary. Participants in carnivals wear unique costumes according to the theme, and every year the theme is different. Participants start from children until adults, so everyone has a choice to participate in this carnival. The Tegal City Anniversary is on April 12th, so if you want to see the carnival, we suggest observing the official announcement in infotegal Instagram.
Sea Alms
Sedekah laut, or in English, Sea Alms, is an annual event conducted by coastal communities, especially fishermen, as a form of gratitude to the One Almighty God by floating offerings to the sea. This event also became a medium to pray and entertain people. In this event, gamelan, shadow puppet performance, traditional dance, and entertainment stage are also included when the boats are floating offerings onto the sea. This event is conducted at the beginning of Javanese Suro month.
